The Jacobe Group LLC Reloading Clinic is now officially open for business. We offer a wide range of reloading equipment, which may be rented by the hour at $10 per hour. We also offer certified instruction by NRA certified instructor. One of the main benefits of renting time on these machines is that $10 per hour is very reasonable to try out reloading then to purchase a complete setup for lots of dollars and then realize you should have gone a different route or not gotten into reloading at all.

The reloading room sports the following, Dillon RL 550B (four available), the Dillon XL 650 (four available), the Hollywood Turret (three available), the Hollywood single stage (two available), the RCBS rock chucker. We also have an RDP setup in 45acp. We have dies for most of the popular calibers, call ahead to make sure we have what you need or if you like bring your own dies.

As this equipment is fairly expensive I will walk you through each reloading step to ensure there will be no damage to you or the machine. We want you to have an enjoyable and educational experience.

Please note that you will need to supply your own primers, bullets, powder and clean brass. We only allow clean brass in out machines. If your brass is not clean, we have 7 tumblers for cleaning brass, allow 2+ hours of tumbling time.

Hours are 9 AM to 9 PM any day there are not classes scheduled. To check for classes check the calendar page or call Jim at 503 362-0584, We are located at 1165 Cordon Rd NE 97317, in Salem. Please call if you have any questions or would like to schedule some rental time. We look forward to seeing you!

Armed in plain sight As I grow older and time slows my walk I look around and see lots of people using a walking stick or a cane and got to wondering about using that walking device as a self-defense method. Kevin has been working on a 4 hour class that explores defensive movements with that everyday tool. Many martial arts teach methods to use a stick for self-defense, which translates to using a walking stick or cane, but most of these systems require months or even years to become proficient. Instructor Kevin Gallagher will teach you how to select a cane and simple, easy to learn methods to keep yourself safe in a four-hour class. This class is not for a stick fighter or martial artist but instead for the average person or elderly with limited mobility. DO NOT purchase a cane or walking stick before taking this class, as not all canes or walking sticks are suitable for self-defense tactics.

Requires: CHL or Kubaton or CQB, or instructor approval to attend.

As of April 1, 2011, The Jacobe Group LLC will no longer be offering the Oregon CHL on the mornings that we are conducting the Personal Security 1 course. There are several reasons that we are making this change. First, there does not appear to be a demand for this course during the weekends and attendance has been very low. Second, it is beneficial to you if there are six or more persons in attendance for quality interaction. Third, there has been some concern that there is information overload between the classroom and then the range. And fourth, this would also give us, the Staff, more time to work with you and your shooting needs.

The PREREQUISITE to taking the Personal Security One course remains the same--you must have attended the Oregon CHL course first.

The Personal Security One course will start at 12:00 (noon) and run approximately four hours--please be at least 15 minutes early to complete paperwork. It is held on a private range in Independence.

If you have signed up for both the Oregon CHL and Personal Security One course on the SAME DAY, please contact me so we can make arrangements for you to be able to attend both classes just on different dates. We apologize for any inconvenience.

If you were the only thing standing between several brutal criminals and your family, would you trust your current skills to protect them? Having a concealed handgun license does not guarantee you will survive a violent encounter. It is not enough to train just with your self-defense firearm when confronted with harden criminals. You must have some form of hand-to-hand close quarter tactics to defend against your attacker who has closed the distance to less than arms reach literally arresting your options to draw your concealed firearm since they need to be this close to assault/rob/abduct/rape/etc.

Instructor Kevin Gallagher style will teach you tactics with or without a weapon along with the how and why of the principles and the conceptual motion to defend yourself. All curriculums emphasize the concepts of awareness, avoidance, and de-escalation.

This work shop begins by reviewing some essential precepts which reinforces basic self defense principles. Very quickly we work into areas such as use of empty hands against knife, empty hand to gun transition.

Based on a non-lethal tool called the Gunting. The Gunting as a system tries to take advantage of the bodies' basic instinctive - gross motor skill response to stimuli. By using instinctive-gross motor skill or a survival reflex, an individual under stress or duress does not have to think of the proper-correct response, the reaction is built in. These responses are called bio-mechanical because the body will perform the actions without thought, without extra training for they fit within the parameters of what the human body was designed to do naturally. This is the same system currently being taught to several Law Enforcement and Military groups in the U.S. and abroad. The program is designed to meet the needs of today's armed professional and concerned citizen.

Do you know how to defend your handgun against a large, aggressive attacker?

Do you know what to do if some street thug sticks a gun in your face during a robbery, or rape or abduction attempt and threatens to blow your head off if you don’t comply?

You will know exactly what to do after you have completed this class. One of the prevailing arguments against civilian-armed defense is the claim that "you will just have the gun taken away from you and used on you," especially regarding women and firearms.

This 8 hour class, taught by instructor Jim Jacobe, who is a certified Instructor by, The National Law Enforcement Training Center and Lethal Force Institute, and has taught these same techniques to law enforcement personal throughout the nation.

These techniques will allow you to control your weapon, even in a struggle with an adversary who is much bigger and stronger than you. These techniques work even for very small people against large attackers, by using leverage instead of strength to retain your handgun or disarm your attacker.
